Myspace

http://www.myspace.com/rosebaileymusic - Link to our Artists Myspace page.
We began with lots of trial and error within Photoshop. One of our errors was,we tried to use the 'Lasso tool' this was to take one leave and delete the colour from it, we wanted to add a rose colour to fit in with the artists name. However we felt this did not work well and found a better way of altering the colour to get the effect we wanted.
On the back cover and inside of the CD promo, we decided to use a gradient map (rose tint) simply because the artists name was Rose, and we felt that in some way, we should use her name as a refernce to something else, in this case the CD cover.
We felt that she should be looking away from the camera to add to the mystery of her story, also from our earlier analysis of Duffy and Christina Aguilera's CD covers, neither of them are looking to camera, so we decided to take the idea from their successful albums.
We encorportated an umbrella to suggest a sense of enclosure, being in a "shell," ( a theme within the music video) and to ensure to her fans and people who would see the album cover, that she wasn't just like every other stereotypical singer, vowing for the limelight. Rose would rather keep herself and her music personal to her fans.
We used Zaphino font, because it is very delicate and and is pleasant on the eye.
Other tools we tried, but felt didn't work so well: magic wand, motion blur, distorting, zig zag and wave
From our audience feedback, we decided that we needed to add an extra scene to our music video (the photo sequence) because the meaning was unclear to viewers.

On the whole, we felt that our music video and the casting of the artist was a success.
Out of all the meda tchnologies used, we found the macs, probably the most difficult to use, especially because we had to use the new imovie, which we had never used before. However, as the editing process went on, we found it easier to use and discovered new things, like using effects and speed enhancing tools, such as slow motion.

We also found creating the myspace a difficulty, because both of us already had myspace pages therefore it wwas impossible for us to create a new account with our exsisting email accounts, so we had to create a new email account, in order to set up the myspace page.

The easiest media technology for us was probably the digital camera, because they were things we already owned and knew how to use, so we didn't need to learn anything new there.
We encountered some problems whilst making our music video; such as filming on two different days thus having different lights within shots; thus making it harder to match shots. weather conditions, artist accessability, forgetting tapes and props at the beginning of the filming process was problematic yet made us more prepared within our re-shoots; this was also a problem as our artist became restless.
